A weekend in Zaragoza20 de marzo de 2010 | Por Ana | Categoría: Viajes
I would like to recommend a weekend in Zaragoza, where I was born. It is a city which is very close to Logroño. It is an ideal town plenty of beautiful places that you have to discover.
For example, you can book a room in the Tibur Hotel. It is in the Cathedral’s Square, so you can go sightseeing to La Seo Cathedral, the Aljaferia Palace (seat of Aragón’s Government), the exhibition site of the Expo 2008 and of course The Pilar. You can also go for a walk along the banks of the river Ebro. If you do so, you may sometimes feel as if you were not in a city.
In Zaragoza there are many different kinds of restaurants; from the smart “Bal d’Onsera”, situated in the Blasón Aragonés Street to the typical local food restaurant “El Fuelle” in the Mayor Street, without forgetting to taste the “tapas” in popular bars like Vitorinos (the best “tapas” of the city), Carlos Tabern’s, Circo (Spanish omelette is their speciality) and any other bars in the old-town. One compulsory bar is the Marly, in Gran Via Avenue. There you can try the best fries of the city.
Zaragoza is also a good place to go shopping. This includes El Corte Inglés -the famous department store-.
If you like football you can take advantage and see a good match. Madrid and Barça have not played this season in Zaragoza yet.
So if you like, I will see you in Zaragoza!
